History |
The firm was founded in 1990 by Principals Edward W. O’Neill, Jr., R.A. and Michael M. Simpson, R.A. Currently a firm of the two principals, professional/architectural staff, and administrative staff. The architectural and professional experience ranges from four to thirty years.
Initially thriving on residential and commercial renovations, additions, and adaptive re-use of old buildings, the work now consists of diverse building types and clientele. This diversity has expanded the firm’s experience to include complex commercial, government, medical, institutional, and interior design projects. In all of these project types the firm incorporates imaginative, “outside-of-the-box” problem solving and aesthetic invention, as a means of satisfying the multi-faceted needs of our clients.
Vision/Philosophy |
There’s never only an either/or, there’s always a both/and solution.
As a general design philosophy...it works.
Fully engaged with current trends of design, construction, and sustainability, the firm strives for imaginative solutions within our Clients’ s programs & budgets. S.O.M.E. Architects continues to pursue challenging projects with an eye on the “both/and”, believing that good design need not be compromised for today’s economic realities and government regulations.
S.O.M.E. Architects has always believed that taking on a wide range of project types keeps our designs current and forward looking, which in turn, has kept our problem solving methods fresh in order to address the myriad challenges presented. Our expertise is not formulaic, but driven by solutions to a defined problem. Having worked for both the Public and private sector throughout the life of the firm, the special needs of every client has been considered in the management of our projects.
